Are you ready for some football?
It’s football celebration time, friends! We’re big football fans and enjoy watching the big game each year with a few of our favorite people. My personal favorite part of football is food. Football season food is so so good, right? To kick off the game properly I’m sharing 3 football party dip recipes that your guests will love. The dips are a balance of sweet and savory so your palette is pleased in all ways. Grab the recipes and tips on creating a simple football snack table display below!
Football snacks are the best and staple items are always the right choice. From nuts to pretzels to chips to dip no one can resist snacking their hearts out during the big game. I think I could live off of football food… football food and breakfast food. Staple items to include in your display:
- Snack Factory® Pretzel Crisps®
- Pop Secret® Popcorn
- Snyder’s of Hanover® Pretzels
- Cape Cod® Potato Chips
- Kettle Brand® Potato Chips
- Late July® Tortilla Chips
- Emerald® Nuts
Do you watch the game or are you like me and you’re totally just there for the snacks? These 3 dips are great but the creamy bacon cheese dip just might be my favorite. Before we dive into the recipes let’s chat simple snack station display ideas.
To add to my savory and sweet snack station I added some pizzaz to popcorn. Melted chocolate and popcorn truly go together. My oldest son LOVES when I make popcorn like this. Aside from adding a little sweetness to a salty snack it’s pretty too. You can find more popcorn and chocolate ideas here.
I keep banners on hand for all occasions as one should never toss a party banner. Traditionally you hang banners on the wall or use them as a backdrop but sometimes they do their job well placed on the table. This football banner has been used for a few big games and I find that it stands out when displayed by food.
Let’s talk snack station supplies, shall we?
I mentioned staple football party snack items being a must buy, so don’t think you need to make things too fancy for your football party guests. Simple is best, especially on game day!
Here’s a few items I recommend for your football snack station:
- Tablecloth (linens of choice… not a plastic tablecloth)
- Banners to display on the table to surround the food
- Chips, Popcorn, Nuts, Pretzels
- Football themed sign or DIY decor piece- this can help the entire table come together
- Moss sheets or AstroTurf used as a table runner or displayed under food trays
- And of course dips to coordinate with your staple snack items
To let guests know which dip is which simply write on wooden spoons! Simple enough, right?
I know you’re ready to dive into these dips. I created a creamy bacon and cheese dip, a zesty horseradish dip and a salted chocolate dip sauce. The husband and I enjoyed taste testing these dips and putting them on ALL the snack options. The bacon and cheese dip went well with pretzels and chips, the zesty sauce went great with pretzels and the salted chocolate sauce dip went great with the salted chips. Needless to say these dips win.
Creamy Bacon and Cheese Dip:
2 cups of shredded cheese
1/4 cup of chopped bacon
8oz cream cheese (room temp)
2 cups of sour cream
Combine all ingredients.
Warm (bake at 400 for 20 minutes or microwave until warm) and serve.
Salted Chocolate Sauce Dip:
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup of sugar
1 1/4 cup of milk
2 tbsp flour
1/2 cup of unsweet cocoa powder
1 tbsp sea salt
Combine all ingredients and blend well. Serve room temperature or serve chilled from fridge.
1/4 cup of mayo
2 tbsp sour cream
2 tbsp horseradish sauce
1 tbsp ketchup
