Hey, Monday! It’s always a good feeling when I kick off the week chatting about hosting a party and sharing recipes, two of my favorite things. Having friends over for those big game day events is such fun and entertaining those guests should be enjoyable and never stressful. Today I’m sharing a shredded beef stew recipe perfect for game day celebrating. Traditional beef stew is good stuff and shredded beef stew is that much better! Grab the stew recipe, a fun way to label your wine glass, my go-to wine and fancy sugar cookies below.
I’m jumping right into the recipe details, bookmark this because you’re going to love it! Be sure to continue scrolling for an extra sweet sugar cookie recipe and fun way to claim your wine glass at a dinner party.
Game Day Dinner Party Shredded Beef Stew
2 pounds beef tips
2 cups of beef broth
1 chopped celery stick
10 miniature carrots
3 small potatoes chopped
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup of flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp basil
1 tsp parsley
1 tsp garlic salt
In a crock pot combine stew meat and beef broth.
Add remaining ingredients.
Cook on low heat for 10 hours stirring occasionally. The beef tips will slowly begin to shred on their own.
Serve with rosemary sea salt bread and enjoy!
Rosemary sea salt bread is the bee’s knees. Seriously, it’s amazing. You can generally find some at a local market, but making it yourself wouldn’t involve too much work. Be generous with the rosemary, the more the better. Apply the rosemary with melted butter on homemade warm bread and add a dash of sea salt. The entire house smells like rosemary and I don’t mind it one bit.
Now let’s dive into these game day inspired sugar cookies!
I made a basic sugar cookie from scratch (you can find my go-to recipe here) and added a little extra game day pizzaz! Using coarse sugar and food dye I created orange sugar to mimic the color of a basketball for game day celebrating. Drizzle any icing of choice and generously sprinkle the custom orange sugar on the top. Basically I made a sugar sugar cookie, you’re welcome. They’re super pretty, right?
Now it’s time for the best party of any dinner party, wine!
In place of those not so pretty wine markers I came up with a fun way to mark those wine glasses. Using washi tape and a marker you can create a custom name tag for your wine glass in just seconds. Simple, unique and perfect for dinner party gatherings.
Have you tried Black Box Wines? If you haven’t you’re totally missing out! It’s one of my all time favorites. You can purchase Black Box Wines for 40% less than comparable bottled wines, it stays fresh for up to 6 weeks (YAY!) and has won over 50 Gold Medals for its quality. See why it’s a favorite?
For my dinner party shredded beef stew recipe I selected the Cabernet Sauvignon, but almost picked up the Merlot. The Chardonnay is another favorite and you find a recipe that pairs perfectly with that here. Red or white wine fan, Black Box Wines has you covered.
How will you be celebrating the big game? Are you hosting a dinner party with plenty of wine on hand?
Happy dinner party hosting, friends!
