Happy New Year, friends! I noticed a handful of friends traveled this new years to celebrate, such a fun idea. I, however, was in my jammies and sound asleep by 9:30pm. I’m truly living the parent life. I’m eager to tackle 2016 regardless of how late I’m able to stay up. wink!
2016 is going to be epic, it’s going to be filled with so many opportunities and it’s going to be the best year ever. Grab the details below on how to host a 2016 best year ever ladies tea party. It’s not too late to kick off the new year by hosting an inspirational tea gathering with your favorite ladies.
I’ve teamed up with Bigelow tea to throw a fabulous new years party with one resolution in mind- making 2016 the best year ever. Say it loud, ladies. 2016 is going to be the best. year. ever.
So let’s get to the simple party plans so that you can have your girlfriends come over this weekend to celebrate, goal plan, sip tea and enjoy delicious treats.
Serve your guests a variety of options that compliment your tea selections, but keep things minimal. My Bigelow tea options for food pairing included Green Tea, Lemon Ginger and I Love Lemon. I created a recipe (details below) that pairs with these warm teas perfectly and it’s oh so good! I also picked up mini lemon cakes from the bakery, fresh croissants (flaky buttery goodness), lemons, honey, a fruit pie tart also from the bakery and I whipped up a cucumber bite (details below). These food items and the tea can be spotted at your local Walmart.
How pretty are these tea snacks?
The mini lemon cakes are the cutest and that pie tart… mouth watering.
I know you’re dying to know all about the dessert in those champagne glasses. What’s in all those sweet layers? Freeze dried strawberries, shortbread cookie crumbles and lemon pudding. Each of these items went together smoothly and I could eat this layered sweet treat in the largest bowl I own. I could seriously eat that much of this.
Here’s how to create shortbread cookie crumbles:
1 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
3 tbs of sugar
1/2 cup of butter
Combine flour and sugar and cut in butter until the mixture is fine crumbles.
Instead of kneading the mixture into a ball or until it’s smooth, gently toss the crumbles and leave as is.
Place the crumbles on a baking sheet and bake at 325 for 20 minutes.
Remove and allow crumbles to cool.
Create your champagne glass layered sweet treat by placing lemon pudding or custard on the bottom, add in shortbread cookie crumbles and top with fruit of choice. Enjoy!
To create these fun cucumbers, peel the cucumbers leaving what appears to be stripes, slice the cucumbers into large pieces, add a drop of salad dressing and sprinkle with bacon bits.
To dress up my tea compliments I added best year ever and 2016 flags. Using a food safe stick attach tiny flags to dress up your tea table. I even placed a best year ever flag in the honey because one can never have enough best year ever signage. For simple instructions on how to create similar flags with your printer at home head here.
Getting together with your besties and chatting about how epic the new year is going to be is a great feeling. Yesterday I had a second new year tea date with two of my favorite bloggers and we chatted about our personal and professional goals. I left inspired and even more eager than I was before to show 2016 how boss ladies do it.
So now that I have you ready to plan a best year ever tea party when are you going to be the hostess with the mostess? What other goal plans do you have for the new year?
