Pumpkin. Pumpkin. Pumpkin.
I’m game for all things pumpkin. A few weekends ago I made a trip home to visit family. As usual, once I walked into the parents home a new treat was waiting for me. During this hometown visit, pumpkin butter was waiting to greet me. My dad is a genius in the kitchen and he’s had his eye on creating a batch of pumpkin butter for awhile now. Pinterest combined with my dads kitchen smarts made for one delish treat! Before we headed out, the parents made sure I had a mason jar filled with pumpkin butter to take home. It’s the best.
I mean, pumpkin butter. Does it get any better than that?
Grab the simple slow cooker recipe details below and much thanks to dad for allowing me to share his masterpiece.
1 large can of pumpkin
3/4 cup of sugar
1 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup of apple juice
Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker
Cook on low setting for 5 hours or until the butter is of ideal thickness.
Stir every 30 minutes.
Jar butter and refrigerate
Oh my word, it’s like spreadable pumpkin pie. I’ll be right over!
You’re totally right! It’s spreadable pumpkin pie! I’m totally going to say that now. 😉
