Summer is coming to an end, friends! Here in Florida we might have another month or two of Summer weather, but fall entertaining will begin regardless. Last week I shared a bold Fall themed display and recipe you need to check out. Today I’m wrapping up Summer with tips on how to host a simple end of summer wine party. Who’s game?
I use to host an annual summer wine party, we called it Our Catalina Wine Mixer. wink. I skipped out during my pregnancy and now with baby I’ve let the other ladies involved take the lead. Wine parties are such fun! Delish simple foods, wine varieties to sample, sweets and the best of company.
My go-to wine snack is a baguette, Italian pepperoni and fresh mozzarella. Chop each of these up and enjoy several bites with your glass of wine. Seriously, I could make this snack an entire meal. A girlfriend brought these items over one day for a wine date years ago and it’s been a favorite since.
Ever wonder what items to bring to a wine party? My friends at ANEW Wines gave me a wine pairing cheat sheet:
Pinot Grigio- Light seafood, cream-based dishes, cheese and fruit trays.
Rosé- Pasta and rice dishes, grilled fish and a wide array of cheese.
What’s your favorite wine selection and food pairings? I’m more of a Rosé kind of gal that can never turn down a good cheese and fruit tray.
Wine, summer, fresh flowers, fresh cheese and my best gals- the ideal way to wrap up summer!
