Hello there, friends. I took a few days off to soak up the perfect weather with my little family. We spent an entire day lakeside and I didn’t want it to end! I hope the weather is treating you as wonderful as it’s treating us here in sunny Florida. This weather is ideal for hosting parties outdoors! I suspect many backyards will be summer party ready very soon.
Inspired by the upcoming warm months and Memorial Day, my mom and sister recently joined me for a fabulous outdoor soiree. Grab all the bright patio sipping fun and recipes (including a delish cocktail) below!
No wine glasses required for this party. Serve your wine in a variety of glasses with fun straws while hosting a not so traditional Memorial Day party.
When sipping on wine one may assume there should be fruit and bread on hand, I’m game for fruit being on hand at all times, but why not something else fun and unique to pair with your sparkling sip? I introduce your summer party to the 4 layer dip chip cup. I could eat multiple 4 layer dip cups proudly. To whip up these cups layer salsa, refried beans, sour cream and cheese. Top off with your favorite chips and serve your Memorial Day party guests a simple snack that will please all crowds.
A cheerful setting simply rocks. To create a bold summer inspired display pick up fresh flowers, a few yards of bold fabric and fresh fruit to add in those fun pops of color. Let the food and drinks be the summer superstars. It’s like the table is telling us we must have some summer fun!
Let’s talk drink granish! Salted rims are great. Zest a lime to add a little extra pizzaz to your Arborita sip. Salt and lime zests belong together, so feel free to ‘overzest’. My sister and I took turns zesting and we’ve both got the task down.
This fruit dip is the best of all fruit dips. I promise. Enjoy my go-to fruit dip recipe the entire spring and summer season, friends.
Fruit Dip: 1 jar of marshmallow fluff / 8oz of cream cheese / 1 tbsp cinnamon sugar
Set out cream cheese for it to cool to room temperature
Combine marshmallow fluff and room temperature cream cheese (be sure to fold until blended completely)
Add in cinnamon sugar
Refrigerate mixture for minimum of 1 hour
Garnish with fresh cinnamon and serve chilled
My mom couldn’t get enough of this strawberry moscato cocktail! Aside from great taste it’s a ridiculously pretty drink. Save or print the recipe below!
When it comes to hosting parties I typically have everything ready to go when guests arrive, but for this patio party I had my guests (mom and sister) join in on creating the recipes we enjoyed. I highly recommend guest involvement, you get help with the food and drinks in a not so demanding manner. wink.
