Can you believe Mother’s Day is this weekend? This year I’ll be celebrating my very first Mother’s Day (insert tears of joy). Lincoln made me a Mother and that is the greatest gift I could ever be granted so when it comes to celebrating keeping it simple makes sense. I told the husband I would like to celebrate in the comfort of our own backyard while soaking up this perfect weather.
As I prefer a simple Mother’s Day celebration so does my mom so it was an easy decision to create a backyard Mom day bbq party. Grab all the party details, recipes and fun DIY banners below!
Let’s chat Mom day bbq party decor.
Simple is the motto for this Mother’s Day celebration. A picnic inspired tablecloth is just the ticket for a fashionable outdoor table setting. Combined with wooden serving trays, grilled food, fresh flowers, a pineapple (because pineapples are cool) and DIY Mom Day inspired banners and you’ve got one fabulous spread!
To create these Mother and Madre banners you’ll need a cutting machine, hole punch and ribbon. Perfect Mom day table decor that’s easy peasy!
Let’s chat Mom day bbq party food.
A bbq isn’t a bbq without cheeseburgers, hot dogs and mustard. Mustard can tend to cause soggy bread, but the New Heinz® Yellow Mustard leaves you with no more soggy bread and no more watery mess! A thicker mustard and a new designed top-down, squeeze bottle that prevents that first squirt of watered down product is why Heinz Yellow Mustard is a bbq party essential.
For sweets I whipped up my Mom’s infamous dump cake. You can print this MUST TRY recipe below. Dump cake can be served warm or chilled making it the perfect outdoor treat!
For drinks I had strawberry and regular lemonade on hand. Fresh blueberries completed the simple sip.
While Heinz Yellow Mustard is ideal as is for backyard bbq parties another favorite of ours is a mustard, ketchup and brown sugar burger topping. To create this yummy topping simply combine 1/2 cup of Mustard, 1 cup of Heinz ketchup (America’s Favorite Ketchup®) and 1/4 cup of brown sugar. Stir and spread on a cheeseburger. I also use this topping on my meatloaf.
Now that I have you ready to plan one stylish backyard bbq for Mom you better start that grocery list. You can spot all of the items on this display at your local Walmart. Be on the lookout for Heinz Yellow Mustard in sizes 8,14 and 20 oz bottles located right next to Heinz Ketchup.
