Fiesta Fiesta. (said in my best singing voice)
It’s a new week which means it’s a new week of party planning fun! I had fun setting up this Cinco de Mayo party spread. Using these bold colors all in one display isn’t my norm, so it was super fun. These mini flower tins are my new fave and they will be your fave too, I just know it.
Grab the Cinco de Mayo party planning tips, food ideas and simple DIY ideas below!
Let’s talk decor
Reusing a few items on hand for decor is smart thinking. Clean up those tomato sauce, pepper and chili jars and use them as mini vases. These mini colorful containers with white flowers are perfect, right? I think I might keep them around the entire spring season and spruce up the flowers from time to time.
For a fun little fiesta pizzaz add food labels in Spanish and English. Fiesta food fun!
Colorful tablecloths and DIY tissue garland are simple ways to dress up a basic table. Consider using the tablecloth on a portion of the table only for a unique look that brings extra attention to the entire display without putting too much focus on one specific item. To create tissue paper garland for your fiesta you’ll fold tissue paper sheets over 3 times and cut strips. Fluff out your tissue paper and display on your food table.
Let’s chat food
Creating a taco bar is a fun idea for Cinco de Mayo parties, but this go-round I created a Taquitos and Tamales display. These delish (super delish) Taquitos come in a variety of options which makes it easy to create an entire themed food around.
When looking for a unique favor idea for guests to take home I always consider food. For Mexican fiesta’s consider take-home homemade salsa. Salsa for the guests to use during the fiesta and take home to enjoy at a later date. Nothing says thank you for coming better than a homemade gift and homemade salsa at that!
Let’s talk sweets!
For this Cinco de Mayo celebration I wanted little focus on sweets, but having a sweet treat of some sort is always a must. Red hots and spicy candies are ideal for Cinco de Mayo and I added in a few rock candies to even the score. When was the last time you had candy with a kick?
