I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday. We soaked up some much needed time with loved ones and now we’re ready to kick off a new year- it’s going to be our best year yet! 2015 is only 2 days away- oh my goodness! In my family many of us are planning a small scale celebration this New Year in the coziness of our own homes. So we’re celebrating with a simple yet stylish New Year’s themed family dinner with Marie Callendar’s pies.
Unique and fun, right? I’ve also added in a DIY that only take minutes to create prior to your New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day guest arrivals! Grab all the fun details below.
Dressing up the dinner pies was super fun and took minimal effort- just how I like it. Using my cricut and gold cardstock I created mini 2015 signs that are ridiculously cute. If you don’t have a cricut machine trace out numbers directly onto gold glitter cardstock and cut cut cut. Attach the 2015 sign to a food safe stick by applying a very small amount of hot glue and dress it up even more by applying festive ribbon.
In keeping with traditional New Year’s themed decor I added in touches of black and white, gold and a little silver. Here’s a few ways to dress up your family dinner party:
- Tie off silverware with silver ribbon
- Use black and white stripe straws to dress up your dinner drink
- Incorporate mini 2015 signs (details above) to your Marie Callendar’s pies
- Attach gold ribbon to your drinkware
- Add a fresh colorful salad to the mix

My guests totally appreciate a dressed up table when it comes to entertaining at any level. Having a variety of products on hand that you can easily incorporate into any themed display is the secret…. along with simple DIY’s of course.
The bump had to make an appearance as we only have a few weeks left before he makes his debut! Can you believe this little guy will be here in just 5 weeks? Totally not going to lie… I’m so ready for him to get here, but it was nice to put on a black dress and enjoy a fancy dinner that took little time to create. Comfort food is how I roll, especially these last few months. wink.
When heading to your local Walmart be sure to make a pit stop at the dinner and single servings section to grab your pies. These little ones offer the warmest comforts of the season wrapped together in a meal made to savor. Pot pies are the perfect comfort food to warm you up this winter and New Year!
